This will be Bil Murray’s 40th season as a hockey coach.  His experience ranges from mini-mites to the college level.  Bil started as a high school and midget coach in Cleveland, Ohio. After moving to Elkhart in 1979, Bil served as the coach at Marian as well as teams from Elkhart and Riley high schools.  Bil has also been active with the area’s younger hockey players as an IYHL coach and the head of the Think Hockey camps.

For four seasons, Bil was Head Coach of Team Michiana U18’s.  TM is the pre/post program for area high school players.  Under Bil’s direction, Team Michiana won four straight state championships and appeared at U.S. nationals for three years.

Bil also serves on the coaching staff of Team Indiana, a team that is made up of the state’s top Junior and Senior high school hockey players.  TI competes annually at the national Hockey Showcase in Pittsburgh.

Last season, Bil was the Associate Coach for Indiana Purdue University Fort Wayne, a strong ACHA team.  Bil assisted with game planning and was responsible for the Penalty Kill and working with the forwards.

Bil is excited about helping to build the Note Dame Hockey Club from the ground up.  He and the other volunteer coaches are looking forward to leading a winning team on and off the ice.  He wants everyone involved to work hard and play harder.
