Bio:

David started playing hockey over 50 years ago at the young age of 3 years old in Ottawa, Canada and advanced through the youth travel leagues there and in Montreal. Given a chance to play junior in Montreal he instead went to university in New Brunswick to pursue his dream of professional football. A multi-sport athlete he continued to play and coach hockey during college. Although offered a professional try-out, David put aside football to pursue a financial services career where he worked internationally, eventually returning to Portland, Oregon. In Portland he returned to hockey, playing for the Portland Royals in the late 70’s. A serious knee injury ended his career but he has played on adult teams ever since…most recently winning the USA Hockey National Championship in 2006 as a member of the 50+ team.

David returned to coaching in 2006 and helped guide his High School team to its most successful season in years and the city championship game. The 2007/2008 season saw his High School team continue its winning ways and he added the duties of head coach of the Austin, Texas Bantam Travel team…who clinched first place during the regular season with a 20-1-1 record. He joined up with the University of Texas Hockey Club as an assistant coach in the fall of 2008 and more recently agreed to work with the Texas State Bobcat team now entering its third season.

David is a Master Level 5 coach with USA Hockey.
